Renie Morris

Artist Bio:

Extraordinary combinations of vivid colors, occasional black and white, characterize her work, which is mostly of animals creatively rendered. Indeed, in fashion, interior design, jewelry as well as art, creativity has been Renie’s hallmark. Without any formal training she taught herself the basics, and eventually took an art class with the renowned Bob Cariola, a wonderful teacher who has and continues to hone her talent.

One of Renie’s greatest loves is of animals, which she often showcases in her paintings. Wolves are especially important in her work and life as she is a volunteer at a wolf preserve in Westchester. She adores horses as well, which is reflected in her wide variety of horse paintings. Ms. Morris is also a frequent visitor to a horse rescue winery in Suffolk County.

Although her primary medium is acrylics and the brush, Renie also creates with palette knives, charcoal and colored pencil and ink.

Renie has sold at the Clothesline Show in Southampton, BWAC and to private collectors, including commissions for pet portraits, and is currently under contract to construct a religious mural in a private dwelling. She has won awards at various venues and is a member of the National Art League in Douglaston, Queens, the Great Neck Artists’ Coalition in Nassau County, The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists’ Coalition in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Flushing Town Hall in Queens and BSAG in Brooklyn. She has also shown at Coney Island Hospital and Brooklyn Town Hall and just finished exhibiting in a printmaking show at the Manhasset Library.
